Lost Boy...

Yesterday I lost my precious Merlin. He got sick about 3 weeks ago - he was having difficulty brething. I took him to the vet to discover that he had a lot of air in his belly. He stopped eating and drinking for 2 days and then started again just as I was about to start force feeding him water. This pattern recurred over and over until yesterday. He was walking very strangely so I made another appointment with the vet (the 4th one over the three weeks). On our way to the vet, he stopped breathing. I administered VPR - and let me tell you, it is very difficult to drive and administer CPR to a dying rat! When i got him to the vet, he still had a heartbeat, but we couldn't get him to breathe independently. Eventually, his poor little heart just stopped.
